Traditional humanitarian aid responds to an emergency, but does not attack the roots of precariousness. At Kauris, we focus our efforts on women in extreme poverty, because we are convinced that true empowerment means giving a woman the keys to her own destiny.
We guide our action according to a timeless proverb, which we have adapted thus: Give a fish to a woman, you will feed her one day; Teach a woman to fish, you will feed her and her family for life. Our projects in Côte d’Ivoire focus on rigorous professional training and the provision of the necessary infrastructure, on financial education as well as on entrepreneurship.
