Kauris is a Swiss NGO that empowers rural communities in Côte d’Ivoire. We support women and men towards economic independence thanks to infrastructures adapted to the reality on the ground, practical training and financial education. Because the future of a village is based on all generations, our programs also include targeted support for children and the elderly.

Our goal is to replace passive assistance with lasting dignity. This involves the economic emancipation of women and men, but also through initiatives dedicated to the well-being and development of the youngest and the elderly.
This strong link with the Ivorian rural communities extends to Switzerland. Through our local awareness program, we invite Swiss citizens to discover Ivorian culture and to better understand the realities on the ground.

Traditional humanitarian aid responds to an emergency, but does not attack the roots of precariousness. At Kauris, we focus our efforts on women in extreme poverty, because we are convinced that true empowerment means giving a woman the keys to her own destiny.
